Description
Our state-of-the-art child care facility has been established to provide an enriching experience for preschoolers. It is a place where children may live and learn in a safe, warm, and loving atmosphere, while preparing them for the future. It provides a time for preschoolers to meet new friends and to actively participate in a group setting while parents are working. The center consists of five classrooms, a kitchen, staff lounge, playground, parent library as well administrative office space. Each classroom and the playground, are equipped with adequate access to restroom facilities.
Curriculum
Each teacher plans and implements activities to help each child develop motor, conceptual, and socialization skills. When children reach three years old, the ‘Zoophonics’ program is implemented. It teaches each child the alphabet using a cast of animal characters and sounds and a body movement that directly relates to the animal/letter. It allows each child to utilize the alphabet immediately.
The curriculum is based on a combination of the usage of the ‘Zoophonics’ program and ‘theme of the week’. Many activities will include story telling, circle time, arts and crafts, flash cards, color recognition, counting and sorting, sharing, group games, and free play. Everyday experiences with people they trust help them to develop into enthusiastic learners. When children feel competent and believe in themselves, they are more willing to take on new challenges--a key ingredient for school success.
